For the golfing enthusiasts, there are five golf courses in the area, walkers will enjoy several walking trails, and in the summer months, the opportunity to listen to the music in the park. The second weekend in June is Maple Valley Days with a parade, booths and many fun activities. Fishing in the lake opens late April and requires a State Fishing License.
Of special interest is the award winning Lake Wilderness Lodge. Designed by a Seattle architectural firm, Young/Richardson/Carlson in 1950. It was awarded the highly prestigious “American Institute of Architecture and Washington State Award” It features a thirty three foot totem pole, surrounded by a spiral staircase, which stretches up to the ceiling.
